Portable Solar Power System: Green Energy, Anytime, Anywhere

Reading time: 6 minutes

This week we are testing the new portable solar power system we received from ALLPOWERS.

This equipment will help us carry out important projects on our Spanish farm.

(Our new portable solar power station)

Problem

Basically, we started building the water system using IBC totes.

Because they are dirty, we need to wash them with pressure water.

(Dirty IBC Totes that need to be cleaned)

Since there is no electricity on the farm, I bought a petrol generator, to power the pressure washer.

Unfortunatelly, the petrol generator is not working.

Up to this point, we have been washing them in the village.

But with this equipment from ALLPOWERS, we will be able to pressure wash the IBC totes at the Finca.

Portable Solar Power System

This portable solar power station came to us thanks to a partnership we made with ALLPOWERS.

I want to say that this equipment arrived at the time we needed it most.

Right when we were upgrading the water system on our Spanish farm.

Dirty IBC Totes

For building this water system I am using IBC totes to store water.

These tanks are food grade, and they were used to transport cooking oil;

My awesome neighbor David sold me two dirty IBCs that he wasn’t using.

I went to pick them up with the trailer.

(Dirty IBC totes to be pre-washed)

These IBC totes are dirty, therefore I will do a pre-washing.

Pre-Washing

As usual, I like to do this pre-washing by hand.

Generally, this way I can remove most of the dirty.

However, to clean the grease residue, they need to be pressure washed.

(This is me, pre-washing this IBC tote by hand)

Moreover, I do this pre-washing by hand using water, degreaser, detergent and a mop.

(This are the products used to pre-wash)

With this pre-washing I leave the tanks ready to be pressure washed.

This works great 🙂

Pressure Washing

Now that we have the portable solar power system, we will be pressure washing the tanks at the Finca.

This will eliminates the need to take them to the village, and will save lots of time.

I bought a pressure washer along with the curved pressure nozzle.

(The pressure washer I bought)

Washing the IBCs

With the pressure washer on, I start by washing the parts that are hard to reach.

The corners, around valve and outlet pipe, etc.

Using this curved nozzle the pressure washing is done at a professional level.

(The generic curved nozzle)

I spent over an hour washing the first IBC tote. And to my surprise, I only used 19% of the power.

(Only 81% of the power was used after the pressure wash)

The IBC tote is now pressure washed, clean and ready to be used.

This portable solar power system from ALLPOWERS is really good.

Other Important Projects

Now that I have power on-demand I will start working on other important projects at our abandoned farm in Spain.

Making Wood Chips

In the coming spring, I am planning to start a vegetable garden.

I will need wood chips to make composting.

For that reason, I bought a second-hand electric wood chipper.

After sharpening the blades, I did the first tests using the ALLPOWERS equipment.

(A very good quality wood chips indeed)

The wood chips tests were a success.

This ALLPOWERS portable solar power station was tested and approved. Badass!

Collecting Rainwater

Self-sustainability is the goal and focus of this project.

I am dedicating my time to research and building the prototype of the rainwater collection system.

At this stage, the rainwater collection tests are done manually, but I will soon upgrade the system.

(Collectiong rainwater using the ALLPOWERS)

Thanks to the ALLPOWERS equipment, I was able to not only collect rainwater, but also validate the design of the rainwater system I am building it.

The rainwater collection tests were a success.

Reviving a Dead Battery

I had to go out for a few days to buy materials.

While I was out, I forgot to turn off the caravan battery main switch.

During my return, I noticed the battery was completely discharged and nothing was working on the caravan.

(The caravan battery was dead)

Firstly, I gave it a jump start using the car battery. Then I left the battery on a slow charge all night.

Thanks to the help of the portable solar power system from ALLPOWERS, the battery has been charged and everything is working again on the caravan.

The Equipment

To show how useful and important this equipment has been on our farm, I recorded a video showing everything in practice.

Watch the video:

In the video above, I not only talk about the importance of having a portable solar power system like this, but I also show how it works in real-life situations.

We are going through strange times, and having a backup solar energy system like this one from ALLPOWERS is essential.

Conclusion

I hope this article has helped you understand the importance this portable solar power system will have on our Spanish farm.
