Simple DIY OFF Grid Shower Build With Less Than 20 Euros

Reading time: 3 minutes

After a day of manual labour in the Finca, there is nothing like a quick off grid shower, right?

But how can we take a quick shower if we dont have the first camp build at the Finca?

At least not yet.

So, in this article I will talk about how I built a simple DIY off grid shower for the Finca investing less than 20 euros.

Simple DIY OFF Grid Shower

To give a little context…

We don’t live on the Finca, so we don’t think it’s interesting to invest on a more modern off grid outdoor shower.

At least not for now.

In the plans for the future content I talk about the list of future projects we intend to do on the Finca in the coming years.

One of these projects will be the construction of the first camp. This is when the more modern off grid outdoor shower will be build.

For now we are only visiting the Finca once a week. The journey from where we live near Valencia to the Finca takes about 2 hours by car.

At the end of each day of manual labor, we are dirty, tired and sticky with sweat.

Obviously we have a problem that needs an immediate solution. We need a shower!

OFF Grid Shower Systems

There are several off-grid shower system options available on the market place.

As we were on budget and needed some quick and simple, it didn’t take long to decide what the best solution was.

Just to give you an idea, these are some of the options available on the market place:

  • Solar water heater shower;
  • Propane water heater shower;
  • Wood fire water heater;
  • Gravity fed water shower;
  • Electric pump shower;
  • Hand pump shower;

In future contents I will be talking in more detail about each of these off-grid showers options, and which one I think to build of the first camp, ok?

After doing some research, I found a cheap and efficient solution for a Simple DIY off grid shower using the following components:

  • A spray pump of 5 liters;
  • A piece of garden hose;
  • A couple of hose fasterners;
  • A garden hose spray gun;

In addition to the above components, there is also our time and effort to put this together.

The coolest thing is that this simple DIY off grid shower did cost us less than 20 euros.

(Note that prices of the components have gone up since we recorded the video).

In the near future we will build the first camp that will actually have a more modern off grid outdoor shower with propane water heater.

Why We Chose This DIY Shower?

We chose this DIY off-grid shower because it was easy to find the components and it was cheap to build.

This type of spray pump or hand pump container is ideal for build portable off grid showers.

As we have no electricity on the Finca, they work by pumping and compressing air to draw the water along a pipe.

You don’t have much water pressure, but it’s enough for a quick shower after a day of manual labor.

Besides, this off grid shower is just a temporary solution.

Conclusion

This is it for this article where I talked about this Simple DIY off grid shower for the Finca.

    1. Hello Chris. It is simple and functional. Before taking shower I do warm the water with gas stove. I kind of using 1L of hot water to 3L of cold water to get a nice water temperature. Thanks for visiting the blog 🙂
