This article is about building a water system with IBC totes.
After doing some research, the next step in this rainwater harvisting system is to wrapping the IBC totes using black tarp to store water and rainwater.
At the time of this PART 2 article, we have managed to wash and clean two of the IBC totes that will be used to store rainwater at our off grid farm in Spain.
You can read the the PART 1 article Rainwater Harvesting System with IBC Totes.
Wrapping the IBC totes this will protect the stored water and prevent the formation of algae inside the IBC containers.
This is our first milestone towards having potable and fresh water in our off grid farm in Spain.

Lots of work to clean these IBC totes. Wouldn’t it be better to buy new ones? I’ve been following your project on youtube. Greetings from the US

Hello Hank. These second-hand IBC totes cost me 40 euros each. The new ones cost 400 euros each. It is not feasible to buy them new, as it is too expensive! Not to mention that it goes against the permaculture principles of “using local resources”. Anyway… Appreciate your comment. Thank you for the visit 🙂
